Introducing Ka-Zimba Ngoma - Connecting Dance, Rhythm & Song
Asafo Gyata & Aaron Tanice's workshops are tailor-made to suit each client group and look to enhance creative potential, self-confidence and self-esteem.
The roots of this workshop are steeped in African/Caribbean culture. We will be exploring the primary movements and instincts of humans and animals alike and incorporating this with live African drumming and percussion. Participants will be taught both simple and complex movements, including Zulu Warrior steps and Gum Boot Dancing. This workshop is not simply intended for entertainment or exhibition but, more so, as an alternative and efficient means of enhancing the work done in mainstream education, encouraging individual and group communication on many levels and promoting lifelong learning…….
“Collective positive energy reaching and touching the heart of every soul, inside and outside our group!”
“Dancing, singing, drumming = Music, a channel that allowed us to express the self and to find again the joy, the joy of just Being.”
“I felt free, like a bird, I felt I could fly” Year 5 pupil, Cranmer School
